A bustle of activity among the Town Hall members and the City Guard greet the eyes of those that reside in the city the next morning. Messengers enter and leave the Town Hall building with a haste in their step, but a calm look on their face as they go about their task.
Some board ships, others travel to nearby villages on foot. With that, the City Guard, doubles the force present on the street, eyes watchful towards the sky, the warning bell manned so that the alarm can be sounded in time.
The merchants are busy as well, acquiring equipment for the guards and any others that are willing to stand and defend as well as food, water and items needed for necessary repairs of the city.
As the days draw on, outlying villagers flow into the city, seeking protection, the beat of the drums heard through the air to many as they carry children, elderly and infants within the town walls, the wails silenced with a gentle shhh as they go about the task calmly. Carts are wheeled in beside them, with a harvest of grain and foods that are lead to a storage place to be stored away, all with the silent hope that all this will be unneeded and it will pass.
In the middle of it all stands Mayoress Merin, her eyes still shining, the smile still on her face despite her worry and anxiety, she lends a hand where needed, helping the villagers, the guards, the just recruited in training, trying to keep spirits high, laughter going among the children and the nervousness at bay from the parents.
War comes, Sensual will be prepared...Will it be enough? Will it be needed, will their allies stand beside them or watch them fall, none of this she can control all of it weighs on her, but she will stand and die on these stones if it comes to that.

The guard stood silent as the Orc made their way into the city, even the wind seemed to hold its breath waiting to see what happened. Out in front followed by several others was the Orc King himself. One of the guards ran ahead to warn others of the possibility of trouble and to warn the assistant Mayoress Merin they were coming.
After the grunted greeting were out of the way the King got down to business, making his demands, as Merin listened quietly a frown on her face. It was soon after that she summoned for the Dwarven Guard that the situation itself seemed to be over.
There were words exchanged back and forth between the Orc and the Dwarven guard, and the king gave him a day to relay the answer to their demands, else War would be declared.
